The role
 
This opportunity serves as a completely new role facilitating the recently launched Creative Computing programme at UoSD, working with students at undergraduate level. You will be able to deliver technical guidance, both on campus and online in programming, Arduino, Raspberry Pi and electronics, audiovisual production and installation, 3D modelling, scanning, fabrication and more. You will have experience using creative coding platforms such as Processing, Open Frameworks, Visual Studio Code and Git, along with programming across HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, C# and node-based platforms such as Scratch, VVVV, Touch Designer and PureData.

Job Purpose 

The Assistant Professor in Creative Computing will contribute to the delivery, development, and continuous enhancement of the BSc (Hons) Creative Computing programme, teaching across a range of modules that may integrate programming, interactive technologies, user experience design, creative coding, extended reality (AR/VR), robotics, and/or digital fabrication. The postholder will support students in developing both technical and creative competencies through project-based learning, enabling them to design, prototype, and implement innovative digital and physical solutions. They will provide academic leadership in module delivery, assessment design, and student supervision, including the guidance of major independent projects that combine creative practice with technological innovation.
 
In addition to teaching, the postholder will contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, academic administration, industry engagement, and student recruitment activities, ensuring that the programme remains aligned with emerging trends in creative technology and the needs of the creative industries. The role also includes undertaking and disseminating internationally recognised research and scholarly activity in creative computing or related disciplines, contributing to the School’s research profile and knowledge exchange activities. The postholder may additionally support teaching and supervision across other undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes as required.

Job Purpose

The role holder’s contribution will be central to high-quality teaching and learning experiences, developing and implementing internationally-recognized curricula, and supporting rigorous assessment across Economics modules at the University of Southampton Delhi.

The role holder is expected to teach Economics modules at both undergraduate (B.Sc.) and postgraduate (M.Sc.) levels. The successful candidate will demonstrate significant teaching experience and be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering modules aligned with international best practices, particularly the UK university curriculum framework, whilst maintaining the highest standards of academic rigor appropriate to the discipline.

Candidates with significant teaching experience in teaching in any of the following areas - (a) Macroeconomics & dynamic Analysis (b) Microeconomics & Industrial organization, (c) Labor economics, (d) Econometrics & quantitative Methods and (e) Development & policy - are encouraged to apply. They may also be required to teach other modules within their broader area of specialization, if needed. The ideal candidate will have a track record of effective teaching and curriculum development. A strong quantitative background and demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence are essential for this position.
