We are now seeking to recruit a number of outstanding individuals for a key research and teaching positions in a number of disciplines as outlined below to play a crucial role in the School achieving its vision.
The Department of Decision Analytics and Risk at Southampton comprises 32 academics with teaching and research interests that include Management Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Operations and Risk Management. Members of the department have published in multiple top journals. The department has a thriving undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio, which is built on the research strengths of the department staff.
You will have a PhD or equivalent degree/professional qualifications and experience as well as a well-established academic reputation in your specialist discipline, demonstrated by a significant record of high quality published research (minimum ABS3*level or equivalent standing). We are especially interested in interdisciplinary knowledge/research in the areas of risk and decision sciences, including but not restricted to risk modelling, risk management, risk culture, insurance and risk-related behaviour. Visible, engaged and collegiate you will have an extensive experience of teaching at undergraduate and post graduate level and be passionate about developing and disseminating successful learning techniques, as well as a track record in securing research funding.
You will be part of Centre for Risk Research, located within this department, which has a long-standing international reputation in risk analysis and risk management. The Centre boasts extensive links with industry and commerce and has undertaken a range of significant research projects funded by both commerce and research councils
