Cognition Learning and Development.

The School of Psychology at the University of Southampton is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) who will complement our expertise in cognition, learning and development: https://www.southampton.ac.uk/psychology/research/index.page

You will be able to evidence excellence in research and teaching, and have a growing track record evidenced by publications/grant seeking. PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Psychology is also required.

The School of Psychology at Southampton is recognised as producing world-leading, high-impact research, supported by excellent research facilities (REF2014). These include purpose-built laboratories for studies of cognition, multi-sensory perception, language, reading, learning, and memory in children and adults. Our extensive research facilities also support electroencephalography (EEG), neuromodulation/transcranial stimulation, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), psychophysiology, eye-tracking, immersive virtual reality, psychopharmacology, and the evaluation of educational/clinical interventions in children and adults. Our mobile laboratory allows researchers to visit community-based populations.

Our School is one of the largest providers of postgraduate research training in the UK, offering a range of MSc programmes (Research Methods, Health and Clinical), research doctorates (PhD), and Doctoral Programmes in Clinical Psychology (DClin) and Educational Psychology (DEdPsy). 

We enjoy long-standing collaborations with University research groups in Education, Biological Sciences (Neuroscience), Engineering, Computer Science, Psychiatry, Medicine, Health Sciences and the Institute for Life Sciences. Our strategic partnerships with NHS Trusts, schools, Government, charities and industry deliver world leading impact (REF2014) and attract significant funding from all major research funders.
