The School of Psychology at the University of Southampton is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) with expertise in human perceptual or cognitive function. Your research interests should complement our existing expertise in visual and visual-haptic perception, attention, reading, learning, memory and meta-cognition. You will be able to evidence excellence in research and teaching, and have a growing track record evidenced by publications/grant seeking. PhD or equivalent professional
qualifications and experience in Psychology.
The School of Psychology at Southampton is recognised as producing world-leading, high-impact research, supported by excellent research facilities (REF2014). These include purpose-built laboratories for behavioural studies with visual, haptic or multi-sensory stimuli. Our extensive research facilities also support immersive virtual reality, eye-tracking, electroencephalography (EEG), neuromodulation/transcranial stimulation, psychophysiology and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).
Our School is one of the largest providers of postgraduate research training in the UK, offering a range of MSc programmes (Research Methods, Health and Clinical), research doctorates (PhD), and Doctoral Programmes in Clinical Psychology (DClin) and Educational Psychology (DEdPsy).
We enjoy long-standing collaborations with University research groups in Biological Sciences (Neuroscience), Engineering, Computer Science, Psychiatry, Medicine, Education and Health Sciences.
