The Faculty of Social Sciences seeks two driven Administrative Officers to work across the friendly and professional Administration and Assessment team and the Curriculum and Quality Team.

The posts present an exciting opportunity for two highly motivated administrators to join the teams who provide support across the Undergraduate and PGT (Postgraduate Taught) business processes of the student life-cycle from enrolment to graduation. The posts will be involved in a range of business processes which include: enrolment, academic programme management; assessment management, graduation, complaints and appeals. You will work closely with Team Leaders, Senior Administrative Officers, Academic staff and other colleagues across the University to ensure effective and professional support for all aspects of the Faculty’s student administration activities.

The Faculty’s students and staff come from a range of backgrounds both within the UK and internationally and together create a multicultural and diverse community. Excellent communication, organisational and inter-personal skills are required and you must be able to demonstrate that you can work accurately and within relevant policies and procedures. You will be an excellent team player with a proven ability to work proactively. You will be friendly, well organised and adaptable, taking a proactive approach in reviewing processes and practices. Successful applicants will be team players who are culturally sensitive, able to work effectively in a busy environment and show a student and applicant-centred commitment to the professional and positive delivery of education.

Direct experience of administration within a University setting is not a prerequisite. These roles offer excellent potential for career development within the organisation for the right individuals and the opportunity to experience a wide range of higher education administration.

You will possess relevant academic qualifications and have some work experience. You will also have good IT skills, the ability to plan and organise your own workload, use your initiative, work well under pressure, and communicate effectively and professionally with a range of stakeholders across the organisation.
