Primary Care Group, Aldermoor Health Centre

A part-time post (50%FTE) has become available for a Programme Manager on the RECUR Programme Grant from September 2019 to September 2021, with possible further extension depending on funding.

The programme is led by Prof Paul Little and Dr Adam Geraghty and the post is based at Aldermoor Health Centre.  The RECUR programme is a collaboration with Universities of Bristol, Oxford and Bath.

The aim of the RECUR programme is to develop and trial a number of approaches to reduce recurrent respiratory tract infection in primary care. These approaches include digital interventions (for physical activity and stress management) and nasal sprays. RECUR is comprised of a number of studies including initial qualitative studies, a feasibility trial and a full randomised controlled trial. This advertised role would set up and manage the recruitment of practices and patients for the qualitative study, and contribute to setup, running and oversight of the feasibility trial. If funding is approved for the main trial component of the programme this role would contribute to the setup, oversight and running of the main multi-centre trial.

This role will involve working closely with collaborators in Health Psychology, including Professor Lucy Yardley and Dr Katherine Bradbury, as well as an Academic Lead based at Aldermoor Health Centre.

The successful applicant will need to have a skill level equivalent to achievement of a degree in a health-related discipline or equivalent experience. Experience of working in an NHS or other health-related research environment is essential.
