Applications are invited for a three-year post-doctoral research fellowship within the Centre for Proteomic Research at the University of Southampton. The research position funded by Against Breast Cancer (ABC) is focused on using multi-omic technologies and systems approaches for molecular phenotyping of secondary breast cancer. The appointed person will provide an interface between the generation of experimental ‘omics data from clinical samples and perform data analysis using cutting edge high- and multi-dimensional data analysis approaches. 

The successful candidate will join the laboratory of Dr. Paul Skipp (Centre for Proteomic Research), working closely with the Glyco-therapeutics laboratory and the Centre for Cancer Immunology. The ideal candidate will have earned their PhD* in the area of Life Sciences and will have a working knowledge of generating high quality mass spectrometry-based proteomic data from clinical samples and expertise in performing and developing new data analysis approaches using Topological Data Analysis, numerical prediction and classification and pathway analysis for disease stratification and targeted therapeutics.

*Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification.  The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
