About the role 

This is a hugely exciting opportunity for a motivated Junior User Researcher, to help our teams build a deep understanding of our users so we can design and deliver the services they need as part of our pioneering digital transformation programme, OneWeb, which is about to enter a new phase.  

You’ll be joining a large agile multi-disciplinary and co-located team dedicated to developing a new user-centred information and support service for many of our users groups - from applying to a course, to finding research collaborations and much more. 

This project is fast-paced and hugely ambitious. We need someone who will work closely with more senior user researchers, benefit from regular guidance and gain practical experience and .enable our teams to continuously improve services, based on data and evidence.

What you'll do 

  • Work with more senior user researchers to plan, design and prepare user research activities.
  • Carry out user research activities from recruiting participants, preparing discussion guides and moderating research sessions. 
  • Work with colleagues to analyse reseach data and synthesise clear and actionable findings. 
  • Communicate user research findings to help the team develop a deep understanding of users and their needs. 
  • Contribute to the wider OneWeb programme and UX community. 

What you’ll have 

  • A working knowledge of designing, facilitating and analysing a range of qualitative and quantitative user research methods. 
  • An awareness of the strengths and limitations of different research methods. 
  • An awareness of user centred design practices for service design or software development. 
  • An awareness of how to develop an understanding of user needs for digital services. 
  • Experience of presenting research findings in a wide variety of formats and contexts. 
  • An awareness of working in an agile way when designing or improving products and services.
