Research Fellow (Post Doctoral position) in Cancer immunotherapy at The University of Southampton.

Professor Salim Khakoo is looking to recruit to a post-doctoral position in cancer immunotherapy. The position is fully funded by an MRC project grant with an end date of 31/03/2022 with a possibility for extension, commencing as soon as possible.

You will work on developing a novel type of immunotherapy based upon natural killer cells, and builds on our previous work published in PNAS and Science Immunology. The focus of the work will be to develop and test different methods of NK cell activation in vitro and in vivo to assess their potential for generating anti-cancer responses.

You will have an interest and experience in both immunology and in vivo tumour models, including high quality publications. It is essential you have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in biomedical laboratory research.

Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification.  The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

Informal enquiries to Salim Khakoo (s.i.khakoo@soton.ac.uk) are welcome.
