Residential Services at the University of Southampton offer accommodation to over 7,000 students every year. This Reception Assistant position offers the opportunity to provide excellent service throughout the evening for students, residents and other customers who interact with our services. You will be calm under pressure and have a commitment to providing excellent customer service. As an excellent communicator and multi-tasker, you will also play a part in providing valuable support to the supervisory team within our Halls of Residence both within and outside of reception.

To ensure the smooth running of our service you will need to work in close partnership with colleagues in the Student Wellbeing team and our Security team who collectively provide 24/7 support to students in Halls. There will also be some occasional weekend working required to support peak activity times during the academic year such as student arrival/departure events and open days. You may also be required to work at City Gateway when on shift to cover sickness and holiday.

During the initial training period it will be necessary for the successful applicant to work during office hours to enable training to take place before moving to the advertised hours upon successful completion of training.

This position is being offered on a part-time, permanent basis.
