The University of Southampton and University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (FT) are an innovative and successful partnership delivering world class research in biomedical science and health services. A key aspect of this research is the development and delivery of successful partnerships with industry and the assessment and adoption of new technologies into the health sector. The appointment of an enterprise fellow working closely with clinicians, laboratory scientists, commercial companies and other collaborators will enable delivery of an ambitious strategy to harness innovations and apply them to improve clinical outcomes and the quality of health services.
The successful candidate will join the team of Professor Tom Wilkinson, who has an ongoing programme of enterprise lead research and clinical service development and will involve activity in the University, working closely with NHS and other partner organisations. The role will require strong collaborative skills and involve both support to existing collaborative partnerships and the development of new enterprise links between the faculty, NHS and industry. Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of the Health Sector and good written and spoken communication skills.
The initial appointment is for 1 year with the possibility of additional years. Salary is commensurate with experience.
