We have an international reputation for research, teaching and enterprise activities.&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The Applied Dementia Research Group at the University of Southampton is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Research Fellow to work on the Road Safety Trust&ndash;funded INDICATE project. This exciting project examines how online cognitive changes relate to driving safety in people with Mild Cognitive Impairment and dementia. Working collaboratively with NHS sites, the post offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful research with the potential to influence future driving policy and assessment practice.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>The role&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day delivery of the INDICATE study, working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. Key responsibilities include supporting the design and delivery of online cognitive testing (training provided), coordinating participant scheduling and assessments, liaising with NHS partner sites, managing data collection and scoring, and contributing to statistical analysis and publication of findings. The role involves close collaboration with clinicians, researchers, and external partners, as well as regular reporting on study progress.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>About you</strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will hold a relevant undergraduate degree, with research experience in a related field, and ideally be working towards or hold a postgraduate research qualification. You will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and good IT skills. You should be able to work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and contribute analytically to research outputs. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to support our cutting‑edge scientific project on natural killer cells funded by the ARIA programme on Sustained Viral Resistance to develop methods to prevent viral infections.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">In this role, you will apply a range of advanced laboratory techniques based around cell culture, maintain high‑quality research facilities, and work closely with other researchers on the programme researchers in a collegiate environment that encourages team working and excellent communication.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Salary is on the Level 3 technical scale.; spine point 22-27 and salary &pound;31,236-&pound;35,608 per annum.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The appointment is from 1st August 2026.</p>
