            <p style="margin-left:0cm;">An exciting opportunity has become available to join the University of Southampton Library Service as a Customer Services Assistant.&nbsp;</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You do not need to have worked in a library before. We are looking for people with strong customer service experience, for example in retail, hospitality or other busy public-facing environments. Our libraries operate across four sites and welcome students, staff and the wider community. This is a varied, people-centered role where you will support a wide range of customers and help them make the most of our spaces and services.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>The Role&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">As a Customer Services Assistant, you will play an important role within a professional and supportive team, helping to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the Library within a busy, customer-focused environment.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Key responsibilities include:</p><ul type="disc"><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Providing frontline customer service in person, online, by phone and email</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Responding to a wide range of enquiries and resolving straightforward queries</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Supporting students and staff to use library spaces, services and systems</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Carrying out administrative tasks and using digital systems to manage enquiries</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Contributing to a safe, well organised and welcoming library environment</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Supporting activities and events where required&nbsp;</li></ul><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will be based at the National Oceanographic Library but will often be required to work across other sites in line with service needs.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>About You</strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">We are looking for professional and proactive individuals who enjoy working with people and take pride in delivering a high standard of service.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will bring:</p><ul type="disc"><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Experience of working in a customer facing role</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Confidence using digital systems and learning new tools</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">The ability to work both independently and as part of a team</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Good organisation skills and attention to detail</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">A calm and practical approach when dealing with queries and busy periods</li></ul><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>Working Pattern&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">This role is offered on a part time permanent basis (35.2 hours per week), working:</p><div style="margin-left:0cm;"><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Monday to Friday 13:45 to 20:15</li></ul></div><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>What we offer</strong></p><div style="margin-left:0cm;"><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Salary &pound;25,249 to &pound;26,707 pro rata per annum</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Generous annual leave plus University closure days</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Excellent pension scheme</li><li style="margin-left:0cm;">Structured training and development opportunities</li></ul></div><p>A supportive team environment within a large and varied service</p>
