Management Information Officer

If you are enthusiastic about extracting insights and intelligence from data, have plenty of initiative and a “can-do” attitude, we would like to hear from you.

Research represents the lifeblood of the University of Southampton. It powers everything we do, from our innovative teaching methods to our growing portfolio of spin-out companies.

You will join Research and Innovation Services (RIS) in delivering a range of services to key stakeholders within RIS and across other Professional Services departments who, collectively, support academic and research staff to fulfil their research and enterprise objectives.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will use your skills and experience in data analytics to provide data and insights on research funding, corporate partners, technology-transfer, intellectual property and contracts to respective teams within RIS.  You will also be involved in data collection for various high-profile surveys that the University is subscribed to, such as the Higher Education Business & Community Interaction survey, the Knowledge Exchange Framework and the Research Excellence Framework.

You will be customer-focused and able to develop good working relationships with colleagues at all levels.

If you can handle all this and have a proven track-record of making things happen in a changing environment, you may be the person for this post.

As this is a part-time and job-share opportunity, our preference is for the post-holder to work between Wednesday and Friday to ensure continuity of service throughout the week.

For an informal discussion about this post, contact Omar Salim, Research Information Manager, by email: O.Salim@soton.ac.uk.
