PhD Description:  A fully funded PhD studentship is offered in the forefront field of hyperpolarized nuclear magnetic resonance. Hyperpolarization is an emerging technique which is capable of enhancing NMR signals by 5 orders of magnitude and has applications in a wide range of sciences, from clinical MRI to analytical chemistry. Our group works on the theory, methodology and applications of hyperpolarized NMR. The project is funded for 3 years and welcomes applicants from the UK and EU who have or expect to obtain at least an upper second class degree in Chemistry or Physics or related disciplines. An interest in physics or quantum theory is essential. Funding will cover fees and a tax-free stipend at current research council rates of £ 14,296 per annum.
