Senior Research Fellow
Senior Research Fellow (Programme Manager – Food Allergy Prevention Project)
1 FTE for 24 months with option of a 36 month extension
An exciting opportunity is available for a programme manager to join the behavioural science group and paediatric allergy and asthma group within the University of Southampton to lead a programme to develop a food allergy prevention strategy for infants.
The successful candidate will manage the programme. Initially this will focus on the development of a digital behavioural intervention following the Person-Based Approach, including theoretical modelling, working closely with stakeholder groups and wider public engagement. The role will also involve leading qualitative research with parents and health professionals. The second part of the programme will focus on the assessment of the intervention, initially in a feasibility study and then in a randomised controlled trial. Both will be supported by the Southampton Clinical Trials Unit.
Applicants will have significant experience developing complex digital health interventions and be familiar with the Person-Based Approach. You will have extensive experience of qualitative research, and be able to manage, motivate and coordinate a research team.
The post is fixed term for 24 months with an option of extending for a further 36 months. It will be offered full-time or part-time as a job share from 2nd September 2024.
For an informal discussion about the post please contact Dr Ben Ainsworth (ben.ainsworth@soton.ac.uk) or Prof Graham Roberts (g.c.roberts@soton.ac.uk).
