Future Worlds Photonics Acceleration Manager

The University of Southampton is home to world-class research and innovation, driving the advancement of technologies that can change the world. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join the Future Worlds Startup Accelerator and the new CORNERSTONE Photonics Innovation Centre (C-PIC) as Photonics Acceleration Manager. This role is integral to our mission of translating cutting-edge research into real-world applications and empowering the next generation of tech entrepreneurs.

In this unique position, you will play a pivotal role in managing high-impact research projects and supporting the launch of innovative tech startups. You will engage with researchers utilising CORNERSTONE to connect them with mentorship, funding, and other resources necessary for launching successful startups. You will foster an inclusive startup community, helping founders navigate the challenges of commercialization and to scale their innovations globally.

Who You Are:

You are passionate about innovation and technology, with experience or a background in science, engineering, or technology. You have experience managing complex projects and a strong desire to see research translate into practical, impactful solutions. Your enthusiasm for startups and spinouts is matched by your strong interpersonal skills and your ability to build relationships across the university and with external stakeholders.
