Principal Enterprise Fellow, Future Worlds

There is an exciting new opportunity to join the Future Worlds team. Help us harness our track record and lead a step change in the initiative through identifying, co-creating and securing major new enterprise activities and funding streams that will expand horizons for both you and the team.

Who are we?

Future Worlds is the tech startup accelerator at the University of Southampton. We exist to engage, support and accelerate aspiring university startup and spinout founders to turn ideas in the lab into startups that can change the world. Since 2020 the startups we’ve supported have raised more than £60m in equity funding to pursue their own startup journeys.

Our purpose-built Accelerator Space sits at the centre of a thriving startup culture at the University where we are cultivating a diverse community and inspiring the next generation of aspiring tech visionaries, powered by a network of multi-millionaire investors, experienced mentors, and corporate partners.

Who are you and what will you be doing? 

The Principal Enterprise Fellow role is vital for enabling Future Worlds to make a step change in its scale and reach. You will take the lead in driving strategic business growth and income generation, responsible for attracting external funding to increase the scale, reach and impact of Future Worlds.

You will be enthusiastic and experienced with excellent people skills, a background in income generation within science, engineering and technology, and a desire to make an impact. You will combine your skills and experience with Future Worlds’ track record, the University’s research and education strengths, and the expertise of colleagues, to find, co-create, and secure major new enterprise activities and funding streams.

You’ll embody the founder-first, inclusive culture we work hard to cultivate at Future Worlds. Working closely with the Future Worlds Director and team you will build strategic relationships with funding bodies, partners and internal stakeholders to find and create new opportunities. and translate them in to major projects and programmes of work.
