Audio Visual Solutions Specialist

We are searching for an enthusiastic Audio-Visual technology expert who is passionate about turning customer requirements into innovative, sustainable and engaging solutions. Enabling our staff and students to communicate and collaborate effectively, sharing experiences in environments that inspire the remarkable. 

About the Role

You will be instrumental in development, design and delivery of Audio-Visual systems across the University business from requirement to delivery into business as usual. There is a varied scale of projects to apply your expertise including, new buildings, refresh and refurbishment of existing buildings to single room and digital signage upgrades. This can also include moves/re-use of existing equipment to make best use of assets and budgets available.

As well as teaching and learning environments you will also be working with corporate office and meeting spaces, digital signage systems, cinema spaces and informal spaces. This role works closely with the Audio-Visual Support Team along with Projects Teams and Estates and Facilities, often under tight deadlines.  

What you’ll do 

  • Engage with clients to establish clear AV & IT briefs and technology requirements to enable design & specifying of Audio-Visual systems.
  • Work with appointed contractors through project delivery including approving design submittals, site inspections, final commissioning & acceptance and client handover.
  • Manage project resources, finances, procurements and benefits to deliver successfully within agreed timescales.
  • To manage project priorities, tolerances and escalations in line with the organisational frameworks.
  • Contribute to continual improvement of working practices and quality assurance and identify new developments in the sector for potential use within the University. Provide input into technology strategy documents.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience of project managing integrated Audio-Visual installation projects.
  • Experience of designing installed Audio-Visual Systems and control systems.
  • Your understanding of AV and IT as converging / complementary disciplines   
  • An Innovative and creative approach, to drive through the benefits of Audio-Visual technology across the University.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate across all levels of the organization to achieve business benefits and outcomes.
