Research Fellow
An exciting opportunity is available for a talented researcher to join the large and successful Psychology and Health Sciences departments at the University of Southampton. You will join a large multidisciplinary research team who are evaluating a social prescribing intervention for people living with dementia. The work will involve conducting qualitative interviews and focus groups with people living with dementia and their carers, as well as healthcare practitioners to explore their views on the SPLENDID social prescribing intervention. This will involve gaining ethical approvals, recruiting participants, conducting the qualitative work, analysing qualitative data, writing it up for publication. The work would include working with PPI and working with a multidisciplinary team. You will need experience of qualitative research and an in-depth understanding of implementation science or health psychology (or a closely related field). You will need to be able to work independently and efficiently in a research context, and will have excellent written English skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Interviews will take place via Teams week commencing 14th April 2025. The position is tenable from 1st of June 2025.
Applications will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon completion of PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
