Auditory Implant Service (AIS) Specialist Finance and Contracts Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dedicated and compassionate multi-disciplinary team at The University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service (USAIS).  

USAIS is renowned for providing a regional service for severely and profoundly deaf children, young people and adults across the south of England and the Channel Islands. The service is an Enterprise Unit within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

About the role: 

The role is located at the Auditory Implant Service on the University of Southampton Highfield Campus.  

What you’ll do: 

Work within a small team to co-ordinate USAIS financial activities and undertake all aspects of finance, including ensuring robust processes are in place for ordering, purchasing and invoicing for large NHS contracts; sub-contracts and other external customers including medical equipment and device suppliers worth >£11m.

Work collaboratively to co-ordinate the administration of USAIS contracts with a range of healthcare, medical device and associated suppliers, ensuring timeliness of review and renewal and support delivery of accurate finance elements of each contract.  

What you’ll bring: 

Enthusiasm for working with financial planning and procurement processes.

Evidence of proven skills in planning and prioritising work around service expectations.

Motivation and accuracy, framed by a sound understanding of financial processes.

Ability to work as part of a team with strong communication skills and an ability to build positive working relationships.

A standard DBS check will be required for this role.
