This is an exciting time to join the University of Southampton. We have a global reputation for delivering world-class education, research and enterprise that makes a real impact on society’s biggest challenges.  We occupy a vast estate that is the lifeblood of this activity.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Facilities Manager within our Faculty Operating Service which supports the research and estates activities undertaken in the School of Biological Sciences on the Highfield Campus. This School has been earmarked for significant growth over the next 5 years in terms of student numbers, research and enterprise activities.  About you

You will have excellent technical and communication skills, with the ability to manage your own workload. You will be a positive and proactive problem solver with the ability to manage a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance at the same time to ensure that work is delivered on time and to a high standard. You will be a strong team player, but also be self-sufficient and able to work independently.

 What we can offer you

We offer some fantastic benefits including generous annual leave (plus an additional 6 University closure days and bank holidays), company pension scheme, discounted private healthcare and dental, company sick pay, options for flexible working, excellent family leave arrangements, a wide variety of on and off-campus arts and culture facilities and access to a range of staff discounts and offers at local shops, restaurants and service providers.

We will support your long-term future too, with access to the Universities Pension Scheme, and subsidised health and fitness facilities. Furthermore, Southampton, at the centre of the south coast,  is a fantastic place in which to live, work and socialise – so regardless of what life stage you are at, you will find a dynamic and vibrant city that caters for all.
