Join us as a Technology Transfer Associate and you’ll play a pivotal part.
Your role
You’ll be joining a university that is highly ranked in the UK for consultancy income generated and that has started 80 spinout and start-up companies since 2000. Your work could touch pioneering developments in cancer immunology, respiratory medicine, next generation diagnostics, clean energy and sustainability, marine, photonics and electronics and computer science.
You will:
- Work on a portfolio of commercialisation projects to further increase IP income generated or to commercialise to maximise social good
- Help manage relationships with key academic staff to understand their research expertise and identify new innovation and commercialisation opportunities
- Use your strong organisational and inter-personal skills to succeed in large, collaborative teams.
About You
Previous commercial experience is valuable but not essential. More important is the ability to evaluate the commercial potential of scientific concepts and a sound knowledge of intellectual property issues in a research environment.
We’ll also look to you to help build networks with potential industry partners and other external stakeholders, such as investors, social enterprise companies and local and central government.
