Rehabilitationist/Senior Rehabilitationist

Join the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service (USAIS) as a Rehabilitationist and make a meaningful impact in the lives of cochlear implant and auditory implant users. You will have a unique opportunity to further your career by using your clinical skills within a University setting allowing you to access up-to-date research in this field. 

Speech and Language Therapists and Hearing Therapists are encouraged to apply for this post. This is a part-time permanent post (28 hours/week).

As a Rehabilitationist, you will play a vital role in helping patients adapt to and optimise their auditory implants. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll provide specialist rehabilitation, guiding patients through their hearing journey.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering tailored rehabilitation programmes for cochlear and bone conduction implant recipients
  • Assessing patient progress and adjusting therapy strategies accordingly
  • Providing education and support to patients, families, and caregivers
  • Collaborating with audiologists, rehabilitationists, and other professionals to enhance outcomes
  • Contributing to research and teaching opportunities within the university setting

 What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in rehabilitation for individuals with auditory implants or hearing loss (training will also be provided)
  • HCPC or RCSLT or equivalent professional registration
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
