Domestic Services Support Manager - Interim

We are seeking an experienced, organised and proactive Domestic Services Support Manager to join our Domestic Services team and play a pivotal role in the effective day-to-day delivery of cleaning services across the University.

Supporting the Domestic Services Manager, you will provide operational leadership across five geographically distinct campuses, overseeing a workforce of approximately 150 colleagues working across four shift patterns throughout the day. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our cleaning services remain safe, efficient, consistent and responsive to the needs of the University community.

The role will have a strong business-as-usual focus, providing visible management and operational oversight across the service. This will include supporting colleagues and supervisors, monitoring standards and performance, responding to operational issues, coordinating resources, and ensuring that agreed service levels are consistently maintained.

Importantly, the role will also provide the additional management capacity required to enable the Domestic Services Manager to focus on strategic, transformational and service-development activity, ensuring that operational excellence and longer-term improvement can be pursued concurrently.

We are looking for someone who can combine strong people leadership with sound operational judgement, who is comfortable managing a complex and geographically dispersed service, and who can build constructive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.

This is an opportunity to join a substantial and highly valued operational service and to make a tangible contribution to the standards, effectiveness and continued development of the University's estate.

If you are an experienced operational manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading people and has the drive to improve services while maintaining consistently high standards, we would welcome your application.

This role is being offered on a full-time basis, for a fixed term period of 9 months.
