Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and proactive administrators to join the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Operating Service.

We are a collegiate team which work with a range of Academic and Professional Service colleagues to provide high level administrative support. As a member of our busy and engaged administrative team, you will deliver a thoughtful, pro-active, and efficient service. To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant experience and success in similar work in administration
  • Up-to-date MS Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint
  • Ability to independently organise activities and events (plus schedules, diaries, meeting arrangements, etc), whilst prioritising a conflicting workload
  • Ability to use own initiative and suggest and implement practical and effective solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in taking meeting minutes
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

Desirable skills:

  • RSA II word-processing, or equivalent level of skill or qualification
  • Experience of monitoring a small scale budget (e.g. stationery)
  • Previous supervisory experience

The Faculty Operating Service (FOS) works in partnership with the academic community, other professional services and the wider University to support Faculties across the triple helix of education, research and enterprise to achieve groundbreaking research and deliver an outstanding student experience.   The FOS team is the integral and embedded professional service directly involved in running and maintaining the Faculty and is key to driving continual improvements and ensuring best practice.
