Lecturer in Nutritional Science

The School of Human Development and Health, within the University’s Faculty of Medicine, is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Nutritional Science. The successful applicant will have strong research, educational, and organisational skills.
The appointee will be expected to develop and implement an innovative research programme aligned to the School research strategy with a focus on translational nutritional science. The research will complement and integrate with other School research in nutrition, endocrinology and metabolism and with that of the NIHR Southampton Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).
The appointee will be expected to make a significant contribution to leadership, management, enterprise and delivery of education at both UG (BM) and PG (PGT/MSc in Biomedical Science by Research/PhD) levels including developing the Faculty’s teaching portfolio.
The successful candidate will be supported by internationally recognised leaders in areas of relevance to research in nutrition, endocrinology and metabolism. The appointee will be expected to create and manage an independent, internationally recognised research programme and to obtain a portfolio of grant support to develop and sustain it. The appointee will be expected to integrate and/or complement the academic priorities of the School of Human Development and Health and to facilitate collaborative links within the School, Faculty and University.
