You will join our vibrant and friendly Cyber Security research group that offers the opportunity to work within our HMG-recognised Centre of Excellence for Cyber Security Research (ACE-CSR) and collaborate with the Southampton Cyber Security Academy (CSA), a partnership between the University of Southampton and key industry and government partners in the Cyber Security area (http://www.soton.ac.uk/csa). The ACE-CSR and CSA jointly provide a unique environment that facilitates top quality foundational and multi-disciplinary work, as well as use-inspired and applied research, education, consultancy and outreach. 

Our environment fosters and promotes growth and draws together expertise from across the University, including Computing, Electronics, Law, Management, Mathematics, Sociology and Psychology. 

In addition to undertaking research, you will also play a major role in defining and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Cyber Security. 

To be successful, you will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Cyber Security, a strong publication record and the proven experience of carrying out research and teaching, in an exciting, highly professional, multidisciplinary environment. We welcome applications from academics with experience in the broad area of cyber security, covering science and engineering of cyber security and information assurance. Specific topics of interest include the security and privacy of emerging applications of the internet-of-things and cloud computing, the protection of cyber-physical systems, system and network security, crypto protocols, application of AI and Machine Learning in cyber security, computer forensics, intrusion detection, authentication systems, cyber risk and economics, usability and human aspects of cyber security.
