nC2 Engineering Consultancy is an Enterprise Unit within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences that provides consultancy services for customers seeking solutions in the fields of tribology, surface science and materials engineering using the state-of-the-art test and analysis facilities at the University of Southampton.

The purpose of this role is to directly contribute to the delivery of externally funded projects for nC2 clients by supporting the technical needs of the team along with ensuring that an adequate level of stock is maintained and responsibility for organising the laboratory and the archive storage spaces.  

It is essential you have a skill level equivalent to the achievement of HNC, A Level, NVQ3 with proven work experience acquired in relevant technical support roles and job-related training.  Ideally you will have a broad knowledge base and experience with tribometer and tribological testing, metrology equipment, metallurgical preparation, digital cameras, photo studio and Vickers hardness. 

Your hours will be 21 per week.
