Associate Professor/Principal Teaching Fellow in Child Nursing

We are seeking a Registered Children’s Nurse active on the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register in Child Nursing Registration to join the Nursing Midwifery and Health Department at the University of Southampton. You will help us deliver our highly valued undergraduate and post graduate, pre-registration, adult and dual qualification nursing programmes, and contribute to our well-developed research portfolio.

If your application is commensurate to the requirements for a balanced portfolio (research and education) your title will be Associate Professor. If you are primarily an educationalist you will be appointed on an education pathway and your title will be Principal Teaching Fellow. Job descriptions for both professional pathways are available.

You will need strong evidence of educational leadership and research leadership, including a sound track record of successful and significant research grant applications and high-quality journal publications. You will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Child Nursing and have an appreciation of issues facing contemporary clinical practice and health services nationally and internationally. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for high quality nursing education and has a strong vision for how education and research can transform care.
