Join us as our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Manager, and get to grips with the types of issues that will ensure we are representative of our dynamic staff and student bodies – and reiterate our reputation as a world-class place of learning and research.  As a member of our friendly and inclusive team, you’ll hit the ground running as you help embed ED&I throughout the university. Whether shaping bold strategies and putting the measures in place to turn ideas into actions, or advising senior management on ED&I issues, you will be the in-house subject matter expert. Helping us comply with all statutory and non-statutory commitments, you will be hugely influential in our decision-making processes.

As such, we’ll expect you to have the ability and the drive to not just shape the strategy, but to bring it to life. 

As either a professional member of the CIPD, or a qualified ED&I practitioner, you will have experience in personnel management, with proven experience of delivering successful ED&I initiatives. Crucially, you’ll have a good knowledge of the higher education sector, and you will have the capacity to plan detailed projects, and get to the root of complex problems. As a highly influential individual, you will be able to resolve conflict and tensions. 

We need someone to approach this role with their eyes wide open. This isn’t about coming up with politically-correct ideas. It’s about leading by example as you build partnerships with key stakeholders, with the overall remit of making our university a place where every member of staff and every student can be themselves.
