Wanting to take this to the next step we are seeking to appoint a Research Faculty Accountant to work as part of a professional team responsible for research funding for the whole University.

The primary responsibility of the post will be to lead the team to deliver research finance and administration, following complex legal and financial guidelines. In addition to supporting the team with providing financial advice with costing applications; it will involve process engineering and looking at efficiencies, management reporting on activity, audit requirements, building relationships across the academic disciplines/Schools and communicating with both internal and external stakeholders and working with applicants to maximise cost recovery.

The successful candidate will also line manage up to 4 members of the team. The team consists of 22 people, including senior management, and will report to the Deputy Head of Faculty Research and Enterprise Finance.

You will be well organised, with excellent analytical and numeracy skills, with an eye for detail and capable of effectively managing a wide range of simultaneous projects/activities. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and can prioritise their work in order to meet deadlines in a busy environment. Good communication, IT and customer service skills are essential to the role.

If you are a professionally qualified accountant or finalist with a track record of passing exams, with experience of accounting systems and proven team leadership skills, then we would love to hear from you.
