Research and Innovation Services (R&IS) support academic and research staff to fulfil their research and enterprise objectives by providing expert advice and assistance in research funding, bid support and management, collaborations with industry and other strategic partners as well as the protection and commercialisation of intellectual property.

We are now recruiting a Research Ethics and Clinical Monitoring Support Coordinator to join the Research Integrity and Governance (RIG) Team. The RIG Team sits within RIS and provides the core support for research integrity, ethics and research and enterprise policies. Further, this team is responsible for giving advice and expertise to researchers on all aspects of clinical research governance and other regulatory compliance relevant to research.

You will be part of a team providing specialist research governance support across all the Faculties within the University.  In particular, you will help manage and monitor the Ethics and Governance Online platform (ERGO II), as well as help support the monitoring of clinical trials to ensure they comply with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations and guidance. With a strong focus on customer service, you will advise and support academic staff throughout the research project review process and project life cycle.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and to work well as part of a busy team. You will be a self-starter and enjoy the challenge of making things happen in a fast-moving environment.  You will have strong office experience in a customer-focused environment.  Experience working in a research support capacity within the Higher Education sector and/or Health (within the NHS or commercial health research) sector would be advantageous, together with a good understanding and knowledge of GCP and the governance need to ensure compliance with its standards.
