Salary:   £30,942 to £38,017 Pro rata per annum (0.5 FTE)

We are seeking to appoint a talented researcher with a background in clinical trial management to join the Primary Medical Care Group at the University of Southampton. The Primary Medical Care Group is a member of the NIHR School for Primary Care Research, a national collaboration between the nine departments that performed best in the 2013 REF, which provides major opportunities for networking, training, and multicentre collaborations. 

The role will involve set up and day to day management of the feasibility trial for the PGfAR funded RECUR programme, aimed at developing and evaluating interventions to reduce recurrent respiratory tract infections in primary care. 

The post-holder will work closely with the co-chief investigator Dr Adam Geraghty and the programme managers and will involvetaking overall responsibility for the set up and quality control of the RECUR feasibility study. 

You will have an in-depth understanding of a health related-discipline (e.g. health sciences, health or clinical psychology) or a closely related subject and you will have knowledge and experience of clinical research methodology in primary care. Your knowledge and experience will have been gained through a relevant first degree in a health-related discipline and research experience. A relevant postgraduate degree is desirable but not essential. You will have demonstrated your ability to work efficiently both independently and in teams in a research context and will have excellent written and spoken English skills with meticulous attention to detail.
