Salary:   £31,866 to £38,017 per annum

You will join our Electrical Power Engineering group within the School of Electronics and Computer Science, University of Southampton - one of the largest and strongest groups of researchers in the UK who conduct research in dielectric materials and insulation systems, high voltage and related phenomena, as well as electrical power systems and sustainable energy generation.

It is essential you have a PhD* or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Electrical/Power Systems along with experience of modelling/simulation/algorithm-design in the area of power system stability and control. Experience of working on estimation/control problems related to renewable energy systems is desirable.

There will be a requirement to travel to project meetings, workshops and dissemination activities across the UK and occasionally overseas.

The post is full time fixed term for 18 months due to funding restrictions.

*Applications will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
