The Widening Participation and Social Mobility (WPSM) department are seeking to appoint a proactive individual to join as Widening Participation Evaluation Lead. WPSM is responsible for the access, success and progression of students from underrepresented groups and disadvantaged backgrounds. 

The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the design of and implementing an evaluative framework to assess the efficacy of widening participation activity. They will be responsible for managing the flow of data into and out of monitoring and evaluation tools and will significantly contribute to internal understanding of the impact of the widening participation programme and external reports and returns associated with the University’s Access and Participation Plan. Attention to detail is critical. WPSM is developing a culture of reflexive practice and the post holder will play a key role in facilitating this. You will have in depth knowledge of evaluation methodologies, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and extensive experience of using monitoring and tracking databases, such as HEAT. You will also have an empathy for widening participation and its aims. 

You will be based on Highfield campus and will work across the access, success, enhancement and lifecycle sections of WPSM. This new role will be especially important in understanding what works in widening participation theory and practice. As well as producing reports for internal review, it is expected that the post holder will disseminate findings nationally through networks, conferences and evaluation organisations. 

You are required to hold a relevant degree and/ or functional/professional qualification (or demonstrable, equivalent experience).
