Our Department of Civil, Maritime and Environmental Engineering at the University of Southampton  is a world-class centre for education, research and enterprise. You will deliver education within a UK-leading Civil Engineering course, and have opportunities for leadership experience. You will contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of this leading Civil Engineering course, gaining skills and experience in structural engineering education, through involvement in this highly reputed program. Your role will include opportunities for external engagement, as well as gaining leadership experience within our department. We have brand new, world-class facilities and a vibrant 50-strong departmental academic community, within a globally top 1% university. The School of Engineering was ranked top in research power in the UK for General Engineering in the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF) in 2014. 

In addition to having a PhD in Civil Engineering and a detailed understanding of structural engineering, you will utilise your existing experience to invigorate the module content and demonstrate a commitment to delivering a range of teaching and assessment across structural engineering.

This position is offered as full time, for a fixed Term of 12 months to cover maternity leave. It is anticipated the commencement date will be in January or February 2021.
