Teaching Fellow in Low Intensity CBT (Children & Young people)

Salary:   £30,942 to £38,017 Pro rata per annum

We are seeking to appoint a qualified low intensity CBT practitioner with experience of working with children and young people. You will help us to design and deliver our highly valued low intensity CBT suite of programmes (Education Mental Health Practitioner, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, long term conditions training and supervisor training), and contribute to our well-developed research portfolio. Your main focus will be with the EMHP programme but the successful applicant would be expected to contribute to the other programmes as directed by the programme lead, but within your established skill set.

You should have experience in  Low Intensity with a formal CBT qualification and have worked with children and young people. You are also likely to have experience of Low Intensity CBT supervision as a supervisor and have experience of working with those completing their low intensity CBT training

The Job

Our vision is to lead and grow our low intensity CBT provision in a global digitalised world by developing our students and staff leadership and innovation skills, such that all will have a pride in their clinically led innovative low intensity CBT education and research at Southampton, which will influence people around the world. You will work with a dedicated, experienced low intensity CBT team, whilst developing your research portfolio.

Daily activities include:

  • Contributing to the design and delivery of low intensity CBT programmes including module leadership, session delivery and marking
  • Assisting in the development of the low intensity CBT research portfolio as part of a research group
  • Acting as a personal academic tutor to students
  • Liaising with programme managers and senior leaders to deliver the low intensity CBT research and education strategy
  • Liaising with clinical practice partners to maintain and develop effective partnership working.

Your job title and salary will be decided upon appointment, dependent on experience. This appointment is fixed term for two years, part time for 14 hours per week, the successful candidate will preferably be available on Thursday and Friday with limited flexibility as these are the teaching days.
