The postholder will be expected to work partially on-campus, and partially at-a-distance from the outset, as this is necessary for the fulfilment of awards verification services at specific times of year.

Student and Academic Administration is engaged in a broad range of activities which support the student lifecycle and student experience, including enrolment, curriculum quality, planning and timetabling, assessment, award and graduation. Our work is delivered in functional teams through the central Registry and Faculty-based student offices, aiming to provide a consistently high quality service to students.

The Exams, Awards and Graduation Manager is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage change across a key area of the University’s business. The pandemic has significantly changed the way we assess and graduate students. We are looking for someone to innovate in this area, developing new service propositions and ways of working.

As Exams, Awards and Graduation Manager, you will lead a team responsible for the provision of degree verification and transcript services to graduates, students and employers, and for the co-ordination of assessment processes, awards and graduation celebrations, marking the transition from student to alumni.  You will work collaboratively with colleagues in academic departments and across the Student Experience Directorate, to design and deliver high-quality services and innovative use of technology, performance data and continuous improvement.

You will need to have extensive experience managing resources, budgets and risks, for large scale activities with competing returns. As COVID-19 continues to impact on service delivery, you will need to demonstrate creativity, resilience and the ability to persuade. You should have a flexible approach, and a commitment to excellence in service quality.
