What we are looking for
We are looking for a Head of Careers and Employability to lead our careers and employability service in supporting our students to develop the skills and experience they need to achieve their ambitions and springboard them towards a successful and rewarding future.
The current pandemic has been life changing for us all. We are looking for a candidate with the ability to ensure our students are guided and supported in achieving the best outcomes after University which has never been more challenging than it is now. We are looking for someone with the drive and passion to deliver our strategy and with the ability to set the direction for a high-quality student experience by providing leadership, operational management and development of the team which currently comprises c. 35 FTE.
You will be a strong leader with significant experience in the field of employability to provide authoritative advice to all levels of staff in the University.
We want a candidate who can provide the change we need to ensure we are top ten for positive destinations in the Guardian League Table, to close our gaps in progression and provide a transformative experience for our students. You will need to have the following:
Proven experience of managing outcomes in respect of student futures and employability
Proven people management skills
Ability to plan and manage major new projects or significant new activities
Ability to collaborate with a range of people to the best effect of our students.

Interviews will be held on 29th or 30th March 2021. You may be expected to work remotely initially in response to the COVID 19 pandemic. This is a full time permanent position with salary up to £49,553 per annum with additional market supplement dependent on experience.
