The University of Southampton is seeking to appoint an Associate Director (Engineering and Maintenance) to lead in an optimal, cost effective and sustainable manner, all engineering, operational maintenance, design and repairs services to all University owned and run buildings in the UK.  

You will provide strategic and technical leadership in the built environment of the University’s assets and in particular to manage the delivery of engineering infrastructure services, energy procurement and carbon management with engineering design activities to optimal levels of cost and quality. In addition, you will form a liaison or “bridge” role in the context of major capital planning and implementation.

You will have proven stakeholder management experience of working with people form diverse backgrounds and levels of seniority along with a proven track record of leadership and management experience within large complex organisations. The successful applicant will have significant knowledge and experience of managing a large maintenance organisation using both in-house and out-sourced resources, with budget responsibility. An engineering degree would be advantageous but is not essential.
