The University of Southampton, one of the UK's leading research-intensive universities and a member of the Russell Group, invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Applied Linguistics/ English Language Education from candidates with an excellent national and international track record of teaching, research and publication.
We are particularly interested in individuals with interests in the areas of language pedagogy, online education, language teacher education, curriculum design, language for specific purposes, or other area related to English Language teaching, to complement and strengthen the existing teaching and research expertise of staff in Modern Languages/Linguistics in the Faculty of Humanities. The new Lecturer is expected to possess publications at a level appropriate for an excellent submission to the 2014 Research Excellence Framework.
The post is intended to develop our provision in English language education and to contribute to the enhancement of research excellence in Modern Languages at Southampton. The new Lecturer will supervise PGR students in his or her area or expertise, teach research-led postgraduate and undergraduate modules in Applied Linguistics/English language education, and contribute to team-taught modules, including online modules. He/she will also contribute to the efficient management and administration of Modern Languages and the Faculty of Humanities, and to the development of the Faculty internationalisation strategy.
