We have an immediate and exciting opportunity to join our newly created Student and Education Services at the University of Southampton. 

Student and Education Services is responsible for the delivery of all elements of the student experience in relation to student administration, support and co and extra-curricular student facing provision at the University. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team as this new division is developed with our ambition to provide a best-in-class student experience aligned to our new University strategy.   

As our Associate Director (Student Systems Transformation), you will play a lead role in driving the vision and direction for student systems at the University of Southampton. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of developments that will ensure a suite of systems that support delivery of the highest quality of experience for students and staff. The ideal candidate will have proven experience of student systems development and implementation. You will need to be people focused, enjoy working at pace and be comfortable with complexity and uncertainty. You will have excellent communication and influencing skills and must be able to establish credibility with staff and key stakeholders across the organisation. You must be able to inspire teams to deliver the best possible support. 

The areas of our division that the successful postholder will lead includes Our Student Systems team who provide the direction, development and support of the IT systems used to support the delivery of education administration and co and extracurricular activities at the University from enrolment to graduation.

Examples of roles and responsibilities for this post include: 

  • Working in collaboration with colleagues in our IT department (iSolutions) develop a blueprint for our future student systems proposals with clearly defined and understood systems 
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap of student systems related projects, including resource plans, which enable major project delivery, systems maintenance, and regular user enhancements 
  • Provide business transformation leadership for student system projects including, but not limited to Banner (our student record) stabilisation and implementation of a customer relationship management system for the whole student journey from enrolment to graduation
