This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Southampton as we invest further in health and wellbeing services, recognising that our people are the core of our organisation. The University’s Health, Safety and Risk directorate offers a wide range of advice and support for people working and studying with us, and this is an opportunity to manage change projects related to those services. 

About the Role 

The Change Portfolio Office has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to work closely with the Directorate of Health, Safety and Risk to define and deliver projects that will improve the provision of health and wellbeing services to the University and address opportunities identified in our strategic plans.  

What you’ll do

  • Be able to understand and express the needs of Health, Safety and Risk colleagues and the functions that the department provides.
  • Deliver projects through engagement with senior stakeholders and using the University’s project delivery approach. 
  • Build, manage and motivate project teams in a matrix management environment. 

What you’ll bring 

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to plan and manage your own workload. 
  • Experience working with occupational health services is highly desirable. 
  • A PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent agile or traditional project management qualification. 

You will be a proactive problem solver who can manage multiple priorities to ensure that work is delivered on time to a high standard. You will be an engaged team member, but also able to work independently. 

You will have a skill level (including experience and other qualifications) equivalent to achievement of a professional qualification or postgraduate degree. You will be professional, clear thinking and act as a role model within the Change Portfolio Office.
