Location:  Highfield Campus
Salary:   £26,396 to £31,412
Full Time Permanent
Closing Date:  Sunday 04 September 2022

The University of Southampton is a research-intensive University, with annual research income in excess of £120 million. As part of a wider project to transform and modernise the management of the University’s research applications, awards and contracts, the University recently invested in a new pre and post-award management system (Worktribe).

Day-to-day operations for this system, as well as other systems such as Pure (Research Information), ERGOII (Ethics and Governance) and Minuet (IP/Patents), are managed by the Research Performance team within Research and Innovation Services. Together, these systems are used by significant proportion of Academic and Professional services and, as such, user support is in high demand. We are recruiting a Systems Support Officer to join the Research Performance team to support our systems activities.

The post-holder will support day-to-day management of our system operations and user support, to include:

  • Resolving/escalating user issues as appropriate
  • Supporting technical maintenance of our systems (e.g. User Acceptance Testing)
  • Supporting the development and delivery of guidance/training for users
  • Provision of system reporting
  • Service ownership and delivery management of Minuet

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced individual with a proven track record of customer-focused service support, problem solving and, ideally, experience with these systems (or data entry/task-based workflow equivalents).

In return you can look forward to an excellent benefits package and a flexible home/office hybrid model supporting real work/life balance.

Our vision and mission at the University of Southampton is to have a community where staff and students feel welcome, supported and valued.  The Research & Innovation Services Department is proactive in fostering a culture of inclusion, respect and equality of opportunity. We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds, with the belief that excellence will be achieved through recognising the value of every individual.
