The role 

As Direct Marketing Fundraising Manager, you’ll play a vital role in generating philanthropic income that directly supports the University to deliver its core mission to improve student success & the student experience and deliver world class medical research.  

Acting as ODAR’s direct marketing fundraising specialist, you will apply your knowledge of direct marketing techniques to develop and deliver an effective multi-channel income generation strategy, with support from a team of Direct Marketing Fundraising Officer(s), who you will manage.  

This is a hugely rewarding and diverse role, which will challenge you to combine creativity with science and create exciting and compelling fundraising propositions and activities for our alumni donors.  

This role is based at our lively Highfield campus, although most of the team work on a hybrid basis so your time can be split between working remotely from home and catching up with colleagues on campus.

About you

As a direct marketing professional, you’ll bring experience and enthusiasm to our Direct Marketing Fundraising team to lead it to success.  You’ll be highly strategic and analytical, with significant experience of delivering data driven marketing activities that support business priorities.   You’ll be a strong project manager, who can deliver complex projects on time and to a high standard.  You’ll also be a confident communicator, who is comfortable with managing external suppliers and representing ODAR both internally and externally.  

Whether you have direct marketing experience in fundraising or sales, we would welcome your application.  While a background in higher education is not essential, you’ll have a keen appreciation of current trends and issues.
