Widening Participation and Social Mobility are pleased to be recruiting two new Financial Support Coordinators to support both financial education and financial support initiatives. These new posts will be based in the University’s Widening Participation and Social Mobility Directorate supporting the Student Success team to help students manage their financial wellbeing as well as administering funding through the University’s Student Support Fund. 

The University of Southampton offer a wide range of financial support to students with the team administering the University’s bursary programme, our Student Support Fund of more than £500,000 which offers non-repayable grants to students in hardship as well as funding for equipment, trips and opportunities and wellbeing.  The team also administer funding through the US Federal Loans scheme.   These posts will allow the team to also expand the work we do in partnership with students, run events, and education activities as well as targeted activity as part of our Access and Participation Plan. 

The successful candidate will have experience of working with students as well as an understanding of inequalities within higher education.  You will be a strong communicator with passion for activities which support students to engage with opportunities and thrive at university.  Experience providing financial information or support is preferred but not essential, more important is an understanding of the sector and a passion for supporting students.
