We have an exciting opportunity to join our School of Biological Sciences Admin and Assessment team in the division of Student and Education Services at the University of Southampton. Student and Education Services is responsible for the delivery of all elements of the student experience in relation to student administration, support, and coordination of extra-curricular student-facing provision at the University. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team as we seek to achieve our ambition to provide a best-in-class student experience aligned to our new University strategy.

Your duties will include:  

-    Overseeing the administrative provision of undergraduate and foundation taught programmes 

-    Maintaining student records utilising various computer systems

-    Working closely with academic staff to organise coursework and examination assessment

-    Supervising members of the A&A team and reporting to the Team Leader daily

-    Organising events such as induction, fieldtrips and visits from external partners

The ideal candidate will have experience within administration, capable of managing and motivating a team of staff and embracing and enabling change. You will need to be organised, enjoy working at pace with a deadline sensitive workload and be comfortable with complexity and uncertainty. You must be committed to developing relationships with a wide range of colleagues and have effective team working, communication and interpersonal skills. This role is full time and offered on a fixed term basis until 2 February 2024, secondments from internal applicants will be considered. 

We will give due consideration to applicants that wish to work flexibly, and due consideration will be given to applicants who have taken a career break. The salary range provides an indication of the incremental progression in the role. The starting salary will be £26,396 and will increment annually.
