The Role
This role would be ideal for someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about Customer Service in the retail environment. SUSU Shop is located at the University of Southampton’s Highfield Campus. We are a busy, independent convenience shop which caters for Students and Staff of the university as well as residents. The successful candidate will also be involved with operations of our merchandise shop (The Locker).
If you would like to help shape our students’ university experience and work for an organization that puts its members first, then this role would be perfect for you.
SUSU values work life balance and on top of your annual leave you will enjoy time off during closure days over Easter and Christmas. There will be some evening and weekend shifts, but these will be less frequent than those in most other retail environments.
About You
You will have experience within a customer service environment including supervising or managing small teams. You will have a positive attitude and must enjoy working in an ever-changing environment. You will be willing to learn and listen to new ideas especially those that come from our student membership. You should be committed to sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion as these are key to us as a Student Union. You should be approachable and happy to work with our core staff and students alike.
