The Widening Participation and Social Mobility Directorate (WPSM) has responsibility for meeting the ambitious targets of the University’s Access and Participation Plan (APP) which aims to improve the access, success, and progression of students from underrepresented groups and disadvantaged backgrounds.

We are seeking to appoint a Widening Participation Project Leader to join us in the Access team as we look to develop and expand our range of activities aimed at working with and supporting those from groups under-represented in higher education as we work towards the targets outlined in our Access and Participation Plan. You will be leading the development and delivery of programmes with a focus on primary schools, secondary schools, attainment raising, and support for young carers.

The successful candidate will have experience working with and designing resources and activities to support young people and families. You will have excellent communication, project management, and relationship management skills which you will use to support collaborative working with colleagues across the University, schools, and external organisations.

The role is a maternity cover offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis until 31 July 2024. It will offer hybrid working from home and at our Highfield Campus, with travel to attend meetings with participating schools and partner organisations throughout Hampshire.
